Grade 1 Sawlog Quality:
1. Spruce/Fir only; min 75% spruce, max 25% fir (sound wood only). 2. Must be delivered within 3 months of date cut. 3. 12' and 16' lengths, 60% of load must be 16' logs. 4. No more than 1/3 of gross log volume in defects from damage, rot, sweep, porcupine chews, etc. 5. No more than 12 knots 1" - 3" in diameter OR no more than 8 knots greater than 3" diameter in any 4ft. section of a log. 6. No forked/charred/burned wood. Grade 2 Sawlog Quality: 1. Age/Diameter same as Grade 1 2. Spruce/Fir/Jack Pine in any proportion (Jack Pine must be separated). Grade 1&2 Studwood Quality: 1. Grade 1: Spruce/Fir only: Min 75% spruce, max 25% fir (sound wood). Grade 2: Spruce/Fir/Jack Pine in any proportion (jP must be separated). 2. Deliver within 3 months of date cut. 3. No rot, no forked bolts, ends cut square. 4. Taper or sweep must be less than 2" over the length of the bolt. 5. In any 4ft section of a bolt: not more than 12 knots 1" - 3" diameter OR not more than 8 knots >3" diameter Grade 1 Treelength Quality: 1. Spruce/Fir only;min 75% spruce, max 25% fir. 2. Must be delivered within 3 months of date cut. 3. No forked trees, butts cut flush and square with the center line of the tree. 4. Max rot is 3" diameter for butts greater than 10"; No rot in butts <10" diameter. 5. Sweep must be no more than 20" over the length of the tree. 6. In any 4ft. section of a bolt; not more than 12 knots 1" - 3" diameter OR not more than 8 knots >3" diameter. 7. No burned/charred wood. Grade 2 Treelength Quality: 1.Age/Length/Diameter/Defects same as Grade 1. 2. Spruce/Fir/Jack Pine (no limit on fir content, however Jack Pine must be separated). 3. Max rot is 40% of butt diameter. |
